EVERYTHING THAT WE ARE 2021

Everything That We Are is a short film that explores the content that was sent aboard NASA's Golden Record, a project meant to explain Earth to aliens. This project has always fascinated me because defining humanity in a series of photos and sounds to someone with no background knowledge seems like the ultimate design task. I created this film using a combination of stop motion, illustration, and collaging techniques, all inspired by the content from the record. While the original record contains all separate photos meant to be played in a slide projector, this film attempts to thread them together to create a more cohesive narrative.
